Voluntary Sector Support

Supporting community groups and charities in South Somerset to develop and grow. From imparting sector information through to bespoke advice and guidance and from back office support services through to being the voice of the sector, our professional support services team are on hand to help not-for-profit groups in the direction they want to go. Volunteering bureau services are also available through the VSS project.

FurniCare

Our furniture re-use and recycling scheme involves us in managing the collection of donated furniture and household goods and in selling these unwanted items at low cost, affordable prices, to families and individuals on low income or benefits. Our efforts also reduce the tonnage of household waste going to landfill sites.

Community Transport

Our transport services meet the needs of individuals who are unable to access conventional transport. Currently our cost effective transport is enjoyed by over 95 organisations, large and small, ranging from children’s and youth services, social/statutory services, elderly care and many self-organised groups and clubs. We also operate a demand responsive service which meets the needs of individuals who want to go shopping or attend medical appointments by using accessible vehicles and volunteer car drivers.
